Abstract

Stroke is a disease caused by blockage or bleeding in the brain’s blood vessels, which can obstruct or reduce blood supply to the brain. The incidence of stroke increases with age, meaning the risk of stroke rises as individuals grow older. Objective: This study aimed to identify factors associated with the incidence of stroke in the Al-Bayan ward of Meuraxa Regional General Hospital, Banda Aceh Methods: This study used a descriptive analytic research design with a sample size of 58 respondents. Results: The findings showed a significant relationship between a history of stroke and the incidence of stroke (p = 0.019), as well as between blood cholesterol levels and the incidence of stroke (p = 0.019). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between blood cholesterol levels and the incidence of stroke. Suggestion: Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that Meuraxa Regional General Hospital continue to educate patients on stroke prevention and use these findings as a reference to improve efforts in providing information related to stroke risk factors.
